Psychotherapy Rates, Insurance & Policies

For in-person psychotherapy in Roseville and online therapythroughout California.

Welcome to the gates of our first flight: navigating the practical aspects

This page provides information about therapy rates, private pay and insurance, payment methods, and practice policies.

I’m Marianna Jakucska, LMFT 84050, and I provide primarily online therapy throughout California, with in-person therapy available at my Roseville office when appropriate and available.

For online therapy, you must be physically located in California at the time of your session.

Therapy Rates

50-minute individual therapy session: $250

Shorter or longer sessions, weekly, bi-weekly (every other week), or as-needed scheduling may be available.

Payment is due at the time of service.

Reduced-Fee Appointments

I recognize that a genuinely valuable therapeutic relationship isn't always financially accessible at the rate of $250.

I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee appointments for people who are experiencing financial constraints but are genuinely committed to doing the work. If you believe we might be a particularly good fit but cannot currently afford my full fee, I invite you to negotiate for your needs, tell me what draws you to my work, and what you are willing to contribute.

Reduced-fee arrangements are established for a limited number of sessions and then reevaluated periodically.

Payment Methods

Payment is due at the time of service.

I accept cash or checks for in-person sessions. A $25 service charge applies to returned checks.

I use Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant payment system designed for psychotherapists to process cards. You can access it directly from your phone and receive an automatic receipt each time I charge your card.

I accept:

  • Major credit cards

  • Debit cards

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) cards

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards

Whether your HSA or FSA account can be used for my service depends on your individual plan and applicable requirements. Please check with your HSA/FSA administrator if you have questions about eligibility.

Good Faith Estimate (GFE)

Under the No Surprises Act, self-pay and uninsured clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for medical services. I will provide one as required, and you may also request an estimate before scheduling. For more information on GFE, please see the link in the footer below.

Insurance & Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If you choose to pay privately, you can work outside the box of third-party insurance requirements and restrictions, including insurance review of your treatment and limitations related to medical necessity or authorization.

If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a superbill—an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please check your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement rates directly with your insurance provider before beginning therapy.

Kaiser Permanente Northern California

I am an in-network provider with Kaiser Permanente Northern California.

Prior authorization is required before beginning therapy if you wish to use your Kaiser insurance. Please contact Kaiser to obtain authorization for services with me.

If you have a high-deductible plan, you may be responsible for paying my contracted fee until you meet your annual deductible.

California Victims Compensation Board (CalVCB)

I accept California Victims Compensation Board (CalVCB) authorization and payment.

If you were a victim of a crime and wish to use your CalVCB benefits, I will need your authorization number before scheduling. Once I receive it, I arrange direct billing.

Important Payment Disclaimer

When I bill your insurance on your behalf, an insurance payment is not a guarantee that the claim was covered or paid correctly. You remain responsible for payment if your insurance later denies or reverses payment, including because of inactive or lapsed coverage.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

I require 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Since the session is waiting specifically for you when we set it, I will charge the full session fee for appointments canceled or rescheduled within this window. Rescheduling depends on availability and is not guaranteed.

Client Records

I maintain health records using a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system (EHR) called TherapyNotes. It includes a secure client portal where you will sign in with your password, meet with me for online sessions, and exchange documents.

Before your first appointment, you will receive the link to the TherapyPortal, my practice policies, consent documents, assessments, and other required forms to complete and sign.

No software or app download is required to access the TherapyPortal. You will need a smartphone, computer, or tablet with an internet connection—and a quiet, private, and safe place for your sessions.
